University of Technology and Life Sciences in Bydgoszcz (UTP) signed a letter of intent on cooperation with the Archigeum company. Under the agreement, the scientists from Bydgoszcz will join the research to build a roofing of the Wielka Krokiew runaway – a ski jumping hill in Zakopane.

The idea of a tunnel protecting jumpers against snowfall and giving thermal protection before jumping was created by the Archigeum Architecture Design Workshop from Zielonka. The project has already gained the acceptation of the International Ski Federation FIS in Switzerland.

Scientists from the University of Bydgoszcz under the direction of Dr Eng. Dariusz Skibicki from the Department of Computer Methods will perform strength calculations of the structure using the finite element method and will model the wind and snow load.
