Students from the PGRacing Team of the “Mechanik” science club at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Shipbuilding of the Gdańsk University of Technology are developing a racing car with which they are planning to participate in the Formula Student competition in the Czech city of Most.
The car is the fifth generation of the vehicle created by the PGRacing Team. It is based on the powerful Triumph Street Triple 675 three-cylinder engine and a steel frame. The design underwent a major revolution in terms of electronics. The pneumatic gear shifting has been replaced with a light, electric one. Also, a start procedure module and a data display for the driver have been added.
Young designers managed to reduce the car in the engine set. They created lighter and quieter exhaust in cooperation with the RCP company and installed two lighter coolers from the company Chłodnice Konarscy. The aerodynamics package has also been improved.
