“At the centre of a Catholic university’s activities should always be the human being and his or her comprehensive development”, emphasised the Rector of the Catholic University of Lublin (KUL), Rev. Prof. Mirosław Kalinowski, during the inauguration of the academic year 2023/24.

The Rector of the Catholic University of Lublin (KUL) pointed out that just as in the research process the most important thing is the honest pursuit of truth, so in the educational process it is important to transmit values and attitudes in accordance with the truth discovered and taught. He also indicated how important is the testimony of life given by the master to the disciple. 

Rev. Prof. Mirosław Kalinowski reminded that the Catholic University of Lublin (KUL) is in the elite group of six classical universities in Poland meeting the criteria of a research university and, at the same time, the only such centre in the eastern part of the country.

During the ceremony, Rabbi Prof. Abraham Skórka, known for his commitment to the Christian-Jewish dialogue, received an honorary doctorate from the Catholic University of Lublin.
