The Centre for the Study of Diplomacy at the Catholic University of Lublin (KUL) began its activities with a lecture on ‘How much God there is in modern diplomacy’ delivered by Emil Brix, Director of the Diplomatic Academy in Vienna.
According to the Catholic University of Lublin (KUL), the tasks of the unit, in addition to conducting scientific research and meeting with experts, will include the establishment of courses and postgraduate studies in diplomacy. The Centre’s tasks will also include the publication of monographs, scientific journals and other source publications, as well as the organisation of conferences and modern popularisation activities and the creation of an educational offer.
The Centre integrates both social sciences, humanities and philosophy. This kind of initiative is not very common in academic circles in Europe, especially in cooperation with the best diplomatic academy, which is in Vienna,” stressed Rev. Prof. Mirosław Kalinowski, rector of the Catholic University of Lublin.
