The Faculty of Contemporary Literature of the Institute of Polish Philology of the Catholic University of Lublin (KUL) is organizing on June 15, 2019 a nationwide scientific conference “The Bible in Literature, Art and Language”.

The organizers emphasize, that the Bible as a work of culture “invariably strongly affects artists and writers. New works are emerging that constitute fresh interpretations of both the New and the Old Testament. ”

The conference will focus on the following areas: The Bible in contemporary works of literature and art; presence of the Bible in the works of literature and art in the past; presence of the Bible and biblical motifs in the theater; presence of the Bible in pop culture; the Bible and performance and the Bible in language.
