The competition for the name of the Center for Popularization of Science and Innovation was launched by the rector of the University of Warmia and Mazury (UWM) in Olsztyn on October 8. 154 entries were submitted for the competition. The jury chose the name Kortosfera, which refers to the nature or specificity of the center’s activity or activity at UWM and its location. In addition, it is original, never used before, inventive and not too long name.

The name Kortosfera was submitted by 2 people: Dr Urszula Doliwa, Prof. of UWM, from the Institute of Journalism and Social Communication, the Faculty of Humanities and MA Emil Andrzej Karpiński from the Department of Tourism, Recreation and Ecology, Faculty of Environmental Sciences.
