A Centre for Innovation and Cyber Security will be established at the Military University of Technology (WAT) in Warsaw to house laboratories and teaching facilities of the WAT’s Cybernetics Department and the Ministry of National Defence’s (MoD) Expert Cyber Security Training Centre.
In four years, it will be used to train the future personnel of the Cyber Defence Forces. The gross cost of the construction is PLN 200.0 million. The contractor for the project, selected by tender, is Unibep SA.
The investment will include the creation of modern scientific and didactic facilities to carry out work related to the development and application of new technologies in the Polish Armed Forces, increasing the security and effectiveness of military operations, particularly in the field of cyber security.
According to Rector-Commander of the WAT, Brigadier General Przemysław Wachulak, at the Centre, WAT scientists will carry out innovative research on a national and global scale in the field of artificial intelligence, virtual simulation, augmented reality and cyber security.
