– We are elaborating a new model of education to change in the organization of studies at the University of Warsaw. We are planning to decrease competition inside the university, increasing the role of interdisciplinary studies. In the current model, the university’s great potential is not fully realized – said Anna Korzekwa-Józefowicz, a spokeswoman of the University of Warsaw.

Next new academic year, PhD studies will be replaced with PhD schools. There will be four such schools at the University of Warsaw including science and natural sciences, social sciences, humanities and cross-domain studies. PhD students will become research assistants.

In regard to the education reform, the University of Warsaw plans to change the education model by establishing of the University Education Council, which is to develop a university-wide education policy and be responsible for application process.
