Prof. Joanna Kałużna-Czaplińska from the Faculty of Chemistry, Lodz University of Technology became this year’s laureate of the Medal of Prof. Andrzej Waksmundzki, the creator of Polish chromatography. This is the highest distinction awarded by the Analytical Chemistry Committee of the Polish Academy of Sciences.
Prof. Joanna Kałużna-Czaplińska is an authority recognized in the scientific community in metabolite research (metabolic products), carried out with the use of chromatographic techniques. She conducts her research at the Institute of General and Ecological Chemistry. The results of her work significantly contributed to the diagnosis of metabolic disorders in children with autism and the development of an individualized diet that would improve their daily functioning.
Se also manages the Poland Chemistry and Nutrition Research Group research team, which conducts research on the impact of diet and supplementation on the human body. This group is part of the International Association – Council for Nutritional and Environmental Medicine.
