On the anniversary of the imposition of martial law in Poland, on December 13, 2018 at 5:00 PM the Collegium Civitas in Warsaw is holding a debate entitled “Will democracy regress?”. The event is based on the book by Steven Levitksy and Daniel Ziblatt “How Democracies Die”, also recently published in Polish.

The participants of the debate will try to compare the mechanisms limiting democracies on the example of countries with a different history and political culture.

The debate will be attended by: Prof. Bohdan Szklarski – political scientist, Americanist, Dr Piotr Łaciński – political scientist, specialist in the policy of South American countries, Dr Dominik Hej, a political scientist, specialist in Hungarian politics.
