By the end of 2018 everybody can vote in a competition organized by the University of Warsaw for the most vibrant word of the passing year. The competition is organized for the eighth time.

The catalog of words is updated each month and it is displayed on www.sloworoku.uw.edu.pl. It contains statistically the key words in Polish journals monitored as part of the “Words of the Day” and “Words on Time” projects. Currently, it includes the following words: “guardian”, “supervision (financial)”, “coalition”, “constitution”, “championship”, “second round”, “parade”

The word with the highest number of entries will win in the internet competition. Last year, the word most frequently chosen by the internauts was “resident”. Regardless of the Internet plebiscite, the word of the Year 2018 will also be chosen by the professors of linguistics.
