The Collegium Altum building at Poznań University of Economics has undergone comprehensive energy modernisation. It was carried out at a cost of almost PLN 55 million, of which almost 30 million was funding from the National Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management.
The reconstruction of one of Poznań’s tallest buildings erected between 1979 and 1995 was necessary. The building did not meet fire and energy standards. Its technical condition also required immediate intervention.
The scope of the investment, carried out over a period of three years, included the repair and insulation of curtain walls, ceilings, roofs, and the removal of cement asbestos panels. Windows, skylights, facades and external doors were replaced. New domestic and fire ventilation was built. Lighting was replaced with LED and new IT cabling was laid.
Thanks to the investment, the energy demand of this huge building has been reduced by around 60 %. The building has also been given an almost new look.
