The Historical Institute of the University of Wroclaw and a branch of the Institute of National Remembrance in Wroclaw invite participants to the international scientific conference “The Breakdown of Empires. Shaping the post-war order in Central and Eastern Europe in 1918-1923 “, which will take place on November 22 and 23.
The conference will be dedicated to the turbulent times after the First World War – crumbling empires, the new states and struggles for their borders. The event is open to all participants, the languages of the conference are: Polish, Ukrainian, English.
The starting point for the discussion will be the hundredth anniversary of the end of World War I and the regaining of independence by Poland. The organizers want to highlight the development of the eastern border of the Poland and the state-forming processes of nations formed on the ruins of the Russian Empire and Austria-Hungary.
