The consortium including Łukasiewicz Research Network institutes, universities and entrepreneurs has completed the project “Layers and coatings with rhenium, its compounds or alloys – their properties, applications and application methods” (ReCover). The project was implemented as part of the CuBR Program and was run by the National Center for Research and Development and KGHM Polska Miedź.
The project developed new rhenium coatings for tools and machine components operating in complex operating conditions in the aviation, tooling and energy industries. The project was aimed at expanding the scope of rhenium application – metal of which Poland is one of the key producers.
The activities were conducted jointly by Institute of Non-Ferrous Metals, Institute of Sustainable Technologies and Institute of Welding, and Rzeszów University of Technology, Wrocław University of Science and Technology, Warsaw University of Technology, AGH University of Science and Technology, Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń and Plasma SYSTEM S.A.
