Students of the Faculty of Civil and Water Engineering at the Wrocław University of Technology won the first Competition for Young Construction Engineers organized by the journal “Builder”. Not only students but also graduates and PhD students of technical universities took part in the competition.

The competition was held as part of the “Builder For The Future” program, which is to facilitate the professional start for young architects and construction engineers. Participants had to choose one of the design tasks – to design a foot-bicycle path or municipal ground garage, or an implementation task – to optimize the implementation of a reinforced concrete ceiling.

The winners, Veronika Olczak, Małgorzata Zielińska, Martyna Lewek and Mateusz Psiuk, chose the implementation task. – Preparing the optimization was really demanding. We checked different ways of reinforcement, ceilings and eventually we were able to prepare the right project – says Martyna Lewek from the University.
