Cooperation between the Kraków University of Technology and the KOMAG Institute of Mining Technology

The Kraków University of Technology (PK) and the Institute of Mining Technology (ITG) KOMAG – Research Institute have concluded a cooperation agreement. Both entities want to use their potential to jointly conduct scientific research and development work, as well as to educate engineers. The document was signed in Gliwice, where ITG KOMAG has its headquarters, by the rector of PK, Prof. Andrzej Szarata, and the director of the Institute, Dr Dariusz Prostański, Professor ITG KOMAG.

ITG KOMAG conducts scientific research and development work in Smart Mines, the Internet of Things and Industry 4.0, as well as closed-loop economy. Among other things, the institution specialises in solutions to improve miners’ occupational safety.

PK and ITG want to jointly apply for research projects, as well as provide scientific and research advice, technical and technological consultancy and prepare expert opinions. The institutions from Krakow and Gliwice also want to cooperate in the education of students and doctoral students, also by organising internships and apprenticeships for them. There are also plans to organise training, courses, and scientific conferences.
