From 17 to 18 April, the Faculty of Humanities at the University of Silesia will host the Curriculum Conference ‘Towards a New Polish Studies’. Representatives of the Polish Studies milieu from academic centres in Poland and abroad have responded to the invitation of the rectors of three universities: Professor Bogumiła Kaniewska (Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań), Professor Jacek Popiel (Jagiellonian University) and Professor Ryszard Koziołek (University of Silesia).
The main theme of the meeting will be a substantive and organisational reflection on the positioning of Polish Studies, a scientific discipline for which the scientific community has been striving for years.
The organisers are inviting the humanities community, teachers, cultural animators and those involved in non-formal education to join the discussion. The outcome of the programme meeting will be recommendations developed by the community, which may become the basis for activities for those organising the new discipline in the structure of Polish science, informs the University of Silesia.
