SpaceX (Space Exploration Technologies Corporation) plans to launch a Falcon 9 rocket on Wednesday, November 28. The satellite is constructed by students of the Warsaw University of Technology and will be launched to the orbit of Earth.
The most important target of the PW-Sat2 mission will be testing the deorbiting sail. The strategic partner of the project are Polish companies Future Processing and FP Instruments, involved in the software and purchase of the on-board computer. The start can be postponed for one day, on Thursday, November 29.
The PW-Sat2 project was launched in 2013. Students worked on satellite components in the Space Research Center of the Polish Academy of Sciences, the Center for Advanced Materials and Technologies CEZAMAT and the Innovation Management and Technology Transfers Center at the Warsaw University of Technology.
