On March 14, 2019, the Lodz University of Technology (PŁ) invites participants to break the Guinness record in setting the longest chain of people forming the Pi extension.

The Pi number is infinite after the decimal point, but we remember it as 3.14. This value is referenced by the date when the world’s most known number celebrates its feast.

The current Guinness record in the category “The longest extension of the number of Pi composed of people” is 627. The record was established by the mBank Foundation on March 14, 2018 in Warsaw.

The breaking of the Guinness record, which is the highlight of the “The Pi Day on PŁ”, will start at 13.00 in the specially marked place on the B campus of the Lodz University of Technology. Everyone who joins the mathematical chain of developing the Pi number will receive commemorative diploma and a gift.
