By the end of the year, a demonstration climate garden will be created at the Collegium Geographicum of Adam Mickiewicz University (UAM) in Poznań. This is a space where solutions allowing residents to adapt to climate change are presented. These can include rain gardens, green roofs, flower meadows or vertical gardens.
The Poznań university’s project will receive funding from the Provincial Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management in Poznań as part of its support for environmental education. The garden is to be available not only to students and employees as part of their classes, but also to local residents. Its additional function is to create a friendly place to rest during breaks from classes.
The concept of creating an educational climate garden is the result of the TeRRIFICA (Territorial RRI Fostering Innovative Climate Action) project, carried out at the Faculty of Social and Economic Geography and Spatial Management of the Adam Mickiewicz University.
