Thanks to many years of international cooperation and significant achievements, especially in the field of Ecohydrology, as part of the UNESCO International Hydrological Program, the Department of Applied Ecology at the University of Lodz (UŁ) has obtained the status of a UNESCO Chair.
The goal of the prestigious network of UNESCO Chairs is to support knowledge exchange, research, training and inter-university cooperation as well as to promote academic solidarity in the world.
-Obtaining the status of a UNESCO Chair is a unique distinction in the international arena, which puts our Chair in a prestigious group of entities closely cooperating with this organization. The UNESCO Chair implements innovative scientific research and education programs, and cooperates in projects related to the optimization of water resources and adaptation to climate change – said Prof. Maciej Zalewski, head of the Department of Applied Ecology, University of Lodz.
