Poland should be a place where students from different corners of the world will come and leave with the feeling that an important part of the world scientific heritage is developing here – said Piotr Dardziński, deputy minister of science and higher education, in conversation with the service “Political Theology Weekly”.
He underlined that, young scientists are looking for universities specializing in their scientific interests, and the race to acquire the most qualified academic staff has a place not only in Poland, but worldwide.
– The strongest minds are competing here- both from world powers such as the United States or China and from smaller countries investing in scientific development – like Switzerland or Israel. We were left behind. And this is the dimension of Polish transformation and international competition – notes Dardziński and emphasizes that science is inherently universal and transnational. How could we develop education today without the achievements of scientists from other countries? – he asks.
