– We wanted the Łukasiewicz Network Research Institutes to focus on tasks that are not assigned to universities. To provide knowledge and technology to entrepreneurs, and not to do didactics and awarding degrees – said Piotr Dardziński, deputy minister of science and higher education.

However, the Deputy Minister stressed that this does not mean that there will be no PhD students in Łukasiewicz Network or that there will be no academic career there. This will be possible in cooperation with universities or institutes of the Polish Academy of Sciences.

The main tasks of the Network are independent implementation of research projects of great importance for the country’s economic policy, supporting the commercialization of the results of research and development works and coordinating the implementation of such projects by institutes focused in the Network.
