From the new year, academic staff will receive pay rises – said Piotr Müller, deputy minister of science and higher education.

Müller stressed in the program “Polityka w górach” that higher payments are due to the reform of the system.

The effects will come from January 1. Now, universities have time until September 30, 2019 to adopt their statutes. After the New Year, the pay rises for academic teachers will come into force. They will be particularly important for higher education institutions located in smaller cities – highlighted Müller.

It was reminded that the Constitution for Science came into force on October 1. According to its provisions, universities are guaranteed a greater autonomy. It also assumes a new model of PhD education and support for regional universities.
