Dr Eng. Kamil Pochwat from the Department of Infrastructure and Water Management at the Faculty of Construction, Environmental Engineering and Architecture of Rzeszow University of Technology is the author of the innovative rainwater reservoir project. Applied in it, the hydraulic system in combination with an intelligent control system not only increases the efficiency of the retention device, but also enables the leasing of retention potential for drainage networks.

The innovative hydraulic system developed by the Rzeszów researcher makes it possible to lease the retention potential, so that the planned costs associated with the rainwater fee can not only be minimised, but even reversed. This offers potential opportunities for leasing capacity, which can contribute to fundraising.

By installing the described solution, it is possible to increase the seasonal discharge of rainwater into the ground from 5 to even 50 m³. At the same time, depending on the size of the unit, it is possible to reduce the amount of water diverted into the network during rainy periods by 30 to 100 %. This solution also makes it possible to reduce rainwater charges to as little as 0 PLN.
