Adrianna Michno from the University of Wroclaw received the Diamond Grant for the project “Lower Silesia as a world imagined by Harry Potter”. The subject of research will be Lower Silesia as a place for locating and concretizing imaginary worlds.

– I intend to reconstruct and analyze the motivations of the persons and entities participating in them– said Michno.
She emphasizes that she chose Harry Potter because of the popularity of his world, the nature of his cultural phenomenon, similar to that accompanying “Star Wars” or the world of J.R.R. Tolkien and by the international status of events related to the Potter’s universe taking place in Lower Silesia.

Michno will research Wroclaw’s Quidditch team, magical camps at the Czoch’s Castle, the role-playing game College of Wizardry, as well as convents and other events related to fantasy.
