The Main Library of the AGH University of Science and Technology (AGH) in Kraków will digitise and make available company literature in engineering and technical sciences published in the years 1955-1989. Funds for this purpose in the amount of almost PLN 100 thousand were obtained from a competition conducted by the Ministry of Education and Science within the programme Social Responsibility of Science II – module: Support for scientific libraries.

The main objective of digitisation is the dissemination of scientific and technical information on the collection of company catalogues, technical product brochures and exploitation and application guides from the years 1955-1989, which are in the collection of the AGH Main Library and are a source of information on the history of Polish mining technology and the achievements of science in the centrally planned economy of the Polish People’s Republic.

A total of 314 company catalogues, technical product brochures and mining-specific exploitation and application guides will be digitised.
