Zofia Łapińska, a doctoral student at the Chair and Department of Molecular and Cell Biology of the Faculty of Pharmacy at the Medical University of Wrocław, has become the winner of the first edition of the ‘Scientific Award’ competition. The winner will go on an internship at the English Institute of Cancer Research in London.
“The Science Prize” is an internship programme designed to foster partnerships between the scientific and commercial worlds. The competition, organised by the Alliance of Academic Technology Transfer Centres and AstraZeneca, is aimed at scientists and doctors who are just starting their research careers.
The winner of the competition will leave for a 10-month research internship at the Institute of Cancer Research (ICR) in London, where she will participate in a prestigious project on genome stability and DNA repair with the ‘Cancer and Genome Instability’ team. The ICR was founded in 1911 and is one of the most important centres for cancer research.
