Professor Michał J. Markuszewski, head of the Department of Biopharmacy and Pharmacodynamics of the Medical University of Gdańsk, was awarded with the Medal of Professor Andrzej Waksmundzki and the Medal of Merit in favor of Polish Analytical Chemistry by the Committee of Analytical Chemistry of the Polish Academy of Sciences.

Medal of prof. Waksmundzki is an honorary award for significant scientific achievements in the field of chromatography and related techniques. Professor Waksmundzki (1910-1998) was an outstanding specialist in chromatographic research. He was also a recognized teacher and author of textbooks and scripts on chromatography.

Medal of Merit in favor of Polish Analytical Chemistry is an expression of recognition for the contribution to the popularization of analytical chemistry, including the organization of “24th International Symposium on Electro and Liquid Phase Separation Techniques” and the XI Polish Chromatographic Conference in Sopot in 2017.
