Dr Dominik Batorski, a sociologist and data analyst of the Interdisciplinary Center for Mathematical and Computational Modeling (ICM) of the University of Warsaw (UW) and Kazimierz Schmidt, Minister Counselor in the Systems Management Department at the Ministry of Digitization, have been awarded this year’s Marek Car’s Award. It is awarded for outstanding achievements in creating conditions for the development of the information society.
Dr Dominik Batorski deals with the machine learning and social implications of the development of artificial intelligence. He animates the community of people focused on working with data and machine learning as an organizer of Data Science Warsaw meetups.
As an expert, he has repeatedly advised government and local government bodies, managed the preparation of expert opinions and participated in the creation of several Strategies (including the Social Capital Development Strategy in Poland until 2020) and Operational Programs as well as the National Broadband Plan and its updates.
