Dr Eng. Andrzej Chmielarz, Prof. of the Institute of Non-Ferrous Metals in Gliwice was elected the President of the Prometia Association – Mineral Processing and Extractive Metallurgy for Mining and Recycling Innovation Association.

Prometia is an international non-profit association based in Brussels, whose aim is to promote innovation in the processing of non-ferrous ores and extractive metallurgy of primary and secondary raw materials.

The association deals with strengthening competences in the field of processing of mineral resources and supporting the development of the industry in Europe by promoting the most innovative, breakthrough scientific solutions emerging in European research teams, through access of industrial partners to qualified European research and development centers and assistance in organizing activities aimed at acquiring funding for research.
