Dr Eng Judyta Cichocka from the architecture faculty of the Wrocław University of Technology became a laureate of the Political Science Award. The researcher won commemorative diploma and prize 15 thousand PLN in the technical science category.

The laureate deals with parametric design and optimization techniques for architectural design. They consist in modeling in three dimensions using programming, which makes it easier for designers to make formal, spatial and material decisions.

Dr Cichocka is a co-author of the “Silvereye” optimization program based on particle swarm optimization. According to the results of its research, it can solve design problems many times faster and more efficiently, what improves the quality and ensures higher energy efficiency of architectural realizations.

The Scientific Awards of the journal “Polityka” are awarded in the following categories: humanities, social sciences, technical sciences and life sciences.
