Dr Maria Katarzyna Lasatowicz, Prof. University of Opole became the chairwoman of the Association of Polish German Studies. The general assembly of the organization unanimously entrusted her with this function. Professor Lasatowicz is the director of the Institute of German Philology at the Opole university.

– This is, on the one hand, a proof of great trust, and on the other, it opens a lot of different possibilities to our German university. It must be remembered that the association is an organization that brings together the German studies community from all over Poland, which gives great opportunities for scientific cooperation, exchange of experiences, establishing contacts between universities – says the chairman.

The task of the Association is to support research work, disseminate scientific achievements in the field of German studies, organize cooperation between Polish institutes of German studies and foreign institutions.
