Dziennik Gazeta Prawna (DGP) has awarded winners of the 8th competition “Eureka! DGP – we discover Polish inventions”. Its participants included Polish universities, research institutes, research units of the Polish Academy of Sciences and institutes operating within the Łukasiewicz Research Network.
The first award was received by the invention “soft magnetic core of a low-power brushless DC electric motor with permanent magnets” developed by scientists from the Łukasiewicz Research Network – Institute of Non-Ferrous Metals from Gliwice.
The second award was taken by “PERK low-molecular kinase inhibitor”, which may be an innovative drug used in the prevention and treatment of neurodegenerative diseases, including primary open-angle glaucoma, developed by scientists from the Medical University of Lodz.
The third award was obtained by researchers from the Faculty of Electronics and Information Technology of the Warsaw University of Technology, for “generator of physically non-copied cryptographic keys”, i.e. a kind of digital fingerprint that could be used to equip small integrated circuits, thus protecting them against access of unauthorized persons.
