Students of the BioEnergia Scientific Circle of the Wrocław University of Environmental and Life Sciences have designed and produced an “energy flower” by combining photovoltaic panels and wind turbine with a vertical axis of rotation. Now, everybody can charge the phone or tablet from the device.

Environmentally friendly charging station will start operating this spring. Students emphasize that their idea fits into the idea of a “green university” – projects aimed at increasing the use of the renewable energy.

The energy flower is also to show that it is possible to install renewable energy sources in urban space. Such solutions can be very useful and integrated well into the environment. Another idea of Wrocław’s students is an energy bench with a roof made of photovoltaic panels.
