The scientific symposium “European integration and human rights”, which took place on October 22, 2018, officially started the scientific activity of the European Center of the Maria Curie-Skłodowska University (UMCS) in Lublin.
The symposium was devoted to the issue of human rights in the context of European integration, in connection with the 25th anniversary of Poland’s ratification of the European Convention on Human Rights.
The establishment of the European Center of the Maria Curie-Skłodowska University was preceded by the signing of a cooperation agreement between UMCS, the University of Larnaca, the European Center in Nancy, the Institute of International Relations of the Kiev National University, the Chernovtsi National University, the Carpathian National University in Ivano-Frankovsk, the Municipality of Lublin and the City of Nancy. The Center is to conduct research and teaching activities in the field of European integration in an interdisciplinary perspective.
