Professor Marek Gierlotka, head of the Cardiology Clinic of the University Clinical Hospital (USK) in Opole, was elected a member of the Board of the Acute Cardiovascular Care Association (ACCA) of the European Cardiac Society.
According to USK spokeswoman Małgorzata Lis-Skupińska, this is an honor and a great success for Polish cardiology. Working on the ACCA Board opens the possibility of implementing international projects and including medical and scientific staff at the University of Opole.
Professor Gierlotka is also the chairman of the Intensive Cardiac Therapy and Resuscitation Section of the Polish Cardiac Society – the Polish equivalent of ACCA. As the co-chairman of the ACCA Scientific Section, Prof. Gierlotka will be responsible for coordinating activities related to science.
