Dr Eng. Sylwia Fudala-Książek, Dr Eng. Anna Remiszewska-Skwarek and Dr Eng. Aneta Łuczkiewicz, Prof. of Gdańsk University of Technology received awards for activities for environmental protection and water management.
The winners participated in the project “Improving the energy consumption of wastewater treatment plants as a result of changing the aeration process control system”. The result was the development of a universal aeration control system for municipal wastewater treatment plants. This reduced electricity consumption and improved the quality of treated wastewater discharged into the environment.
The aeration control system, especially in small municipal sewage treatment plants, is economically, technically and environmentally advantageous. Such a solution was applied in the sewage treatment plant in Luzino and in Sławki in the Somonino commune. Preparations are underway for the implementation of the project at another municipal sewage treatment plant in the Pomeranian Voivodeship.
