The construction department of the Silesian University of Technology is one of the implementers of the research project “Integrated Porous Cementitious Nanocomposites In Non-Residential Building Envelopes For Green Active / Passive Energy Storage (NRG-STORAGE)”.
The aim of the project, implemented under the Horizon 2020 program, is to develop a new insulation material based on cement nanocomposite. The tasks of the Silesian University include selected laboratory tests of cement nanocomposite, supervision over testing real walls with applied insulation in the form of nanocomposite and development of the results of those tests, as well as validation of the numerical model of this material.
The project involves universities, companies and institutions from Argentina, Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, Spain, the Netherlands and Germany. The total budget is over 6.8 million euros, and the value of the Silesian University of Technology project is almost 314 thousand euro. The activities will be carried out for 48 months.
