Rector of the University of Warsaw, Prof. Alojzy Z. Nowak established the Medical Faculty at the University of Warsaw after obtaining a positive opinion of the Senate of the University of Warsaw (UW), preceded by an earlier discussion and several months of preparations and talks between the academic community of the University of Warsaw with representatives of the Government, individual ministries and numerous experts and representatives of medical universities, hospitals and clinics.

Physician education returned to the University of Warsaw after more than 70 years. The studies will start in October 2023 and about 60 people will be admitted to full-time studies for the first year, in the following years this limit will be increased.

The Rector of the University of Warsaw is convinced that the establishment of the Faculty of Medicine will also bring a greater symbiosis of science and medicine, which will contribute to a fuller implementation of the social mission of the University of Warsaw.
