The Krzysztof Kieślowski Film School of the University of Silesia in Katowice has become a member of the Centre International de Liaison des Ecoles de Cinéma et de Télévision – CILECT. This is the most prestigious international association of film schools established in Cannes in 1954.

The Kieslowski Film School was accepted unanimously during the general assembly of members at the CILECT congress in Rome. This is the culmination of a months-long application process, which included an inspection visit by CILECT President Professor Bruce Sheridan to Katowice in April 2023.

Currently, more than 180 film schools from 65 countries on six continents belong to the association. The association has an alumni network in excess of 1,330,000, and annually the affiliated film schools educate more than 60,000 students in various film subjects.
