As in previous years, students from Ethiopia, Azerbaijan, Palestine, Tanzania, Nigeria, Kenya and Belarus made up the largest number among the scholarship recipients. For the first time, scholarships were also awarded to students from Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The most popular subjects among the students were engineering and technical sciences, as well as science and natural sciences. The largest group of scholarship holders will study in Warsaw, Wrocław, Kraków and Poznań. Among the universities most frequently selected by applicants were the Warsaw University of Technology, the Wrocław University of Science and Technology, the University of Warsaw, the Jagiellonian University and the University of Wrocław.
The Banach NAWA programme is a joint initiative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and NAWA, implemented as part of the Polish development cooperation programme and aimed at citizens of developing countries.
