The aim of the call is to select and support universities that will strive to achieve the status of a research university, and will be able to effectively compete with the best academic centers in Europe and the world.

Universities participating in the competition will be required to present a plan for raising the level of research and quality of education, the implementation of which will contribute to raising the international importance of the university’s activities. Universities selected in the competition will receive increased subsidies annually, in the years 2020-2026.

The call for proposals under the “Initiative of excellence – research university” program will start on May 15 and will end on June 24, 2019.
