The first ever inauguration of the academic year took place at the Higher School of Border Guards (WSSG) in Koszalin. Border Guard (SG) officers took the oath and were accepted as students. The ceremony was attended by the Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs and Administration Czesław Mroczek.
The WSSG is a vocational university for state services established on 1 October 2023 and designed for officers (SG). Training started in the second semester of the academic year 2023/24 and the university is an organisational unit of the Border Guard.
WSSG runs a unique in the country degree programme in state border security. They complement the existing model of education for Border Guard officers.
Graduates of the course will be equipped with competences necessary to respond to new security threats. Upon completion of the BA programme, each graduate will be an officer of the Border Guard in the rank of ensign.
