The National Science Center (NCN) has launched the POLS project, co-financed by Norwegian funds. Foreign scientists will receive over PLN 30.5 million for research projects carried out in Polish scientific institutions.
POLS is a competition supporting mobility, implemented in the formula of small grants for foreign scientists who want to conduct research in Poland. The grant amount (from EUR 100,000 to EUR 200,000) may be allocated to the remuneration of the research team, depreciation or purchase of equipment, costs of materials and services, costs of trips and conferences, and other costs related to the implementation of the project.
In total, foreign scientists submitted 99 applications and 39 projects were selected for funding: 21 – the exact and technical sciences, 8 – the life sciences and 10 – the humanities, social sciences and arts. Researchers will receive over PLN 30.5 million, 85% of the sum is financed by the Norwegian Financial Mechanism for 2014–2021, and 15% is Polish co-financing.
