A foundation act was signed for a modern five-storey Institute of Computer Science of the University of Gdańsk, which is being built on the Baltic campus of the university in Gdańsk Oliwa.

– I hope very much that the building of the Institute of Computer Science of the Faculty of Mathematics, Physics and Computer Science at the University of Gdańsk will prove to be a perfect response to the needs of the labor market, which is still insatiable with IT specialists – said Jerzy Piotr Gwizdała, the rector of the University of Gdańsk during the ceremony.

The new building will include seminar and computer rooms, auditoria, didactic and scientific rooms as well as office and social rooms. The value of investments necessary to implement the project amounts to over PLN 39 million. The investment is co-financed under the Regional Operational Program of the Pomorskie Voivodeship for the years 2014-2020. Its completion is scheduled for the second half of 2019.
