06.12.2019

The Foundation for Polish Science (FNP) for the 28th time granted its Awards, recognized as the most important scientific distinction in Poland to Polish scholars. During the gala ceremony at the Royal Castle in Warsaw, the FNP Awards were received by three eminent professors – Marcin Drąg from the Chemical Faculty of the Wrocław University of Science and Technology, Andrzej Kossakowski from the Institute of Physics at the Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń and Andrzej Wiśniewski from the Faculty of Psychology and Cognitive Science.

-I cordially congratulate the professors receiving these extremely honorable awards. I would also like to congratulate the Foundation for Polish Science for disseminating the science in Poland and raising the banner of scientific excellence. I want to say that my activity for the past four years as a minister was conceived as an attempt to create a systemic framework to support the approach to science that FNP represents from the very beginning – said Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Science and Higher Education, Dr Jarosław Gowin during the ceremony.

The Foundation’s prizes have been awarded since 1992 for outstanding scientific achievements and discoveries in four areas: life and earth sciences (this year the prize has not been awarded), chemical and materials sciences, mathematical, physical and engineering sciences as well as humanities and social sciences.
