The Foundation for Polish Science (FNP) will donate 180,000 PLN to the Warsaw Genomics company, which was founded by the winners of the FNP competition. The Warsaw Genomics is playing an important role in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic, performing 3.5 thousand SARS-CoV-2 tests daily.
Warsaw Genomics, a company that creates and carries out sensitive and accurate tests for detecting genetic diseases, has focused its efforts and resources on implementing molecular tests for detecting coronavirus infection.
Warsaw scientists, doctors and diagnosticians continuously from March 20, seven days a week, almost 24 hours a day, are working to perform free tests for medical personnel, hospitals and sanitary-epidemiological stations under the direction of FNP winners – Prof. Krystian Jażdżewski and Dr Anna Wójcicka. Currently, 3.5 thousand are analyzed in the laboratory per day, which is a significant contribution to the number of all SARS-CoV-2 tests performed daily in Poland (an average of 15,000).
