The problem of immunization will be the topic of the next meeting of the Socio-Technological Laboratory (SoTechLab) operating at the Department of Society and Technology Studies of the Faculty of Humanities of the AGH University of Science and Technology in Krakow.

The discussion “The future of vaccination in a post-pandemic COVID-19 world” will be held in a remote format on 30 January 2024 from 17.00-18.30.

The discussion will address mandatory vaccination, which was problematic even before the pandemic (declining vaccination rates of Poles, crisis of the primary vaccination programme in Ukraine, anti-vaccination movements). Another important context will be diseases forgotten or trivialised.

“While the world was focusing attention and resources on the pandemic, other diseases such as (not only) multi-drug resistant tuberculosis, malaria and dysentery were taking a deadly toll”, recalls AGH and reports that the discussion will be participated by speakers who study attitudes and practices and look at how different public health systems work: Joanna Ładomirska, Doctors Without Borders; Dr Tomasz Sobierajski, Professor at the University of Warsaw; Dr Maria Świątkiewicz-Mośny, Professor at the Jagiellonian University; Dr Michał Wróblewski, Professor at the Nicolaus Copernicus University.
