The Medical University of Gdansk (GUMed) has again been ranked as one of the best universities in the world according to the prestigious Times Higher Education (THE) Impact Rankings. It was ranked for the second time in the 801-1000 range and is the highest ranked Polish medical university.

GUMed was ranked among 1,596 universities from all over the world; among 23 Polish universities, it was ranked 9th ex aequo with Kozminski University, Silesian University of Technology and Poznan University of Technology. The first place in the world was again taken by Western Sydney University and, among Polish academic centres, by the University of Gdansk.

THE Impact Rankings is the only one of the prestigious global rankings that assesses universities in terms of the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the United Nations. GUMed scored highest in SDGs such as Good Health and Quality of Life (Less Inequality) and (Gender Equality).
